INTRO
In September 2007 OSHA introduced the Maritime Industry Safety & Health Outreach Training, which consists of # three different training: Shipyard training, Marine Terminals Training, and Long shoring training.
This training course covers the safety & Health Regulations applied at The Shipyard Industry Standards: OSHA CFR 1915.
The training course will last for Four days and should be attended by all personnel working at Maritime Industry.

The shipyard work environment is very complex. Shipyards work on variety of vessels inculding tankers , cargo carriers , fishing vessels , military ships , and barges. In addition , shipyards do different types of work such as new ship construction , repair , maintenance , and demolition ( shipbreaking ).
Shipyard work typically involves fabrication and forming of large steel plates , beams , and pipes , as well as painting and coating operations. In addition , there are outfitting activities such as electrical shipbuilding , requireing grinding and chipping of welds. Moreover , most shipyard employees work outdoors and exposed to adverese conditions , such as extreme temperatures.
